Pull Chain Bursary

Congratulations  to our 2019 Bursary Recipient Nikita Johnson!

Pull Chain Bursary

Purpose: The purpose of this bursary is to honour the countless number of people who dedicated many hours to making Pull Chain Theatre a success.

What was Pull Chain Theatre: Pull Chain Theatre performed over a hundred works from Shakespeare and Chekhov right down to Broadway musicals at both the Purple Lantern and Windsor Park. The theatre was structured in a dinner theatre style that allowed the audience to be up close and personal with the actors. Each performance began with a conversation with the actors allowing the audience to get to know them on a personal basis. Pull Chain was an excellent training ground for many of the local actors in Sault Ste. Marie, some of whom went on to become professional. At the passing of the Artistic Director, the funds left in the Pull Chain bank account was donated to the Sault Theatre Workshop and it was decided to put it towards education.
